Alex was born in Grundy, Va. in 1986 and began his musical talent at the young age of four, when his Dad bought him a guitar and it took off from there. He got his first mandolin when he was ten years old and that's when his passion for bluegrass music really began. He was influenced in those young days by Blue Highway, Lonesome River Band and lllrd. Time Out. He spent countless hours in front of a cd player learning songs and arrangements. During his teenage years, Alex was introduced to band settings and picked up a few other instruments, expanding his musical knowledge.
